Historic Tall Ship ELISSA Arrives in Savannah

This summer, Savannah welcomes the legendary Tall Ship ELISSA as part of her Sail 250 commemorative voyage. Originally built in 1877, ELISSA’s arrival marks a special homecoming, returning to a port she last visited more than a century ago in 1894.

Visitors will have the unique opportunity to step aboard one of the world’s last remaining operational tall ships. Rich in maritime history, ELISSA offers a fascinating glimpse into the age of sail through her preserved craftsmanship, remarkable story, and continued life at sea.

Today, ELISSA stands among only a handful of historic vessels worldwide that still sail regularly. Designated a National Historic Landmark and recognized as the Official Tall Ship of Texas, she serves as an enduring symbol of America’s maritime heritage and the seafaring history of Galveston.

During her stay in Savannah, guests can enjoy complimentary deck tours and an exclusive evening event aboard the vessel.
